A DISTRIBUTOR / BROKER once told me
what he needed in software. He said:
I need software that tells me who wants the parts - where I can load present RFQs
from customer inquiries (or import
them or enter them manually;
Who has the parts - which vendors are carrying
the parts;
That compares my present inventory
and offers that I have from these vendors and provides me
with
potential sales possibilities to pursue;
You know, I also want to review my previous
RFQs from customers for these same parts (as far back
as I want), whether I sold the parts, or didn't. If Idid sell
the parts, who did I sell them to. Did I lose out on a deal
because I quoted too high, or did their requirements change.
When I bought the parts, who did I buy them from.
If a customer calls me, I want to look at my present orders
BY CUSTOMER PURCHASE ORDER NUMBER
and if there is shipping FEDEX, UPS or other waybill number
it is there for me to give my customer.
In addition I want to make as much of the online sources available,
such as Broker Forum(tm)or ICSOURCE(tm) (please
note that our company has no legal relationship with these
two sources). Does your software program make use of information
from these online programs??

the part. The HISTORY push button is
available
from most screens in BIZVIEWS and can be accessed from
outside all program options and left

When the push button is selected, the screen that appears
has 5 tabs. The first tab is SELECT
CUSTOMER and the
screen
displays pertinent information about all customers and
vendors:

Now, if you want to see a complete history of what the
customer ordered in the past, select the second
tab-CUSTOMER
PO SEARCH:

The third, fourth and fifth tabs tell it all when you
are searching for an item. The third tab - CUSTOMER
HISTORY displays

important pieces of information about the item:
- What
parts were sold to the customer
- what
did the parts cost you and what was the selling price

The next tab, PRESENT OFFERS
is used to look up a part to see if you have it in stock,
or you have any offers against
it, or RFQs when a customer calls you:

The next tab, IITEM HISTORY
- ALL provides:
- What
you have quoted in the past for the item shown (part
number 02C),
- Invoice
history for the item for all customers, and
- All
purchase orders that you have cut for this part in the
past.

The last screen PAST
OFFERS / RFQs displays all past offers and
RFQs:
